Every year, Inglenook has a tribute day for Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll. It is an important day to remember the achievements and cultural influences on our world. It is a celebration of diversity and fun. This year, the kitchen was a hive of creativeness. Our Elvis impersonator, Dr. Bob, made special flatbreads smothered in grilled bananas, strawberries and whipped cream. Throughout the school, the music and songs of Elvis made us 'all shook up' ! We thought of the influence of rock and roll on our culture and sang happy birthday to Elvis. It was art, culture and media studies!

Movember
Movember is long gone but the memories of the month are still fresh with the school. Inglenook had a number of supportive events around men's health that were fun and educational. Our 'men making cookies event' was a great success. Shotbread cookie dough was rolled out and the men made and baked the cookies. The men did a fundraiser 'a cookie' sale and it was a wonderful event. Thank you.

Brickworks picnic
This autumn, Inglenook community high school went to the Brickworks to celebrate the bounties of summer. Ravi and his outreach group made the lunches and our school heading down to the Brickworks by walking through the Donland 'forgotten' river ravines. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. We ended our trip in our annual pi/pie ceremony where we counted down pi to the 10th decimal and then ate 30 pies as a group. Thanks to all for a great trip.

Skiing
Inglenook,S.E.E.D and East York alternative school had a wonderful time on the slopes of mighty Mt ST. LOUIS. Our skiers and snow boards had a super day. The weather and ski conditions were near perfect. Our Ingladventurers had 'gnarly' time on the slopes and, of course, the cafeteria poutine was a hit. Till next year...dream of snow!

Year of Space
Welcome Earthlings: Inglenook brings you Peace!
After a long, hot summer, Inglenook begins it's first semester. This year's theme is:
S P A C E !
It is wonderful to see the new energy in the school.
The teachers and staff supported the galactic theme in the first week with old Star Trek videos,
poems about outer and inner space, costumes, pop songs about space and launched the spirit of
Inglenook into a high orbit. Thanks to all who participated!
Although it was an overcast day, our annual Toronto Island trip
was a successful. We had a great BBQ, Social Events and Games. Keeping in the theme of space, we had our 'Egg Toss' Competition! It was an super, spatial and smashing success.
