R.O.M. in a day!

Inglenook students had the wonderful opportunity to visit the R.O.M. for a field trip. Thanks to Jenn Gatti and Saraya Elwin for organizing this fun and educational event. Student had a great time, in part, because there was a scavenger hunt contest created by Saraya. Can you image the centruies, students had to travel through to get their answers to the scavenger hunt? Whew! It makes me dizzy! History can be fun! Join the club, the Inglenooker adventurers of Toronto.

Hallowe'en contest

Inglenook had it's annual hollowe'en contest. It was a very scary, frightening event. As the real world mellowed into the hallow world of spirits, ghouls and vampires, our school celebrated the costumes of our students. It was wonderful to see the creativity and passion of the students'

presentations. Wendy white, our drama teacher hosted the show as 'Glen' her alter ego. She looked tough and fierce in her leather black jacket. Rob Rennick, our Geography teacher, went as Guru Kris. P. Frye, and handed out delicious fries from Jamie Kennedy cafe. Salute to all.

Kortright Natureland Pie Ceremony

Inglenook had a great field trip to Kortright Conservation Area. The autumnal grey skies did not hide the beauty of the forests and fields of this site. Students ambled down many paths to the creeks and marshland pond. Surprise...the swans were out in full force for great photo opportunities. At the end on the day, we had our annual Pie celebration. Eric Levitt, our student 'dictator' gave a great speech and Irene our math and science teacher recited the

mathematical pi ....chant. It all ended in the eating of 30 pies and in the very end a pie fight!

Autumn had made it's appearance....

Island Field Trip

It was a beautiful day. It was sunny, breezy...the most perfect day for our annual Island field trip. The trip across Toronto Harbour was beautiful. Wards Island is a delight. We had our Ingl'BBQ, with Athina and Saraya as chefs....the veggie and hamburgers were great. Wendy helped out in the drama presentations. We walked over to Wards Island beach. It was paradise.

At the end of the day we had our 'egg toss' contest and 'pass the parcel' contest. It was great fun and an environmental delight.

Utopian Studies Models

The Utopian Studies class created their own imaginative "topias". They organizes their thoughts, created sketches, diagrams and then built models of their places. They had to

present these new places to the class. The variety was amazing! There was 'Barbietopia', 'Aqua-topia', Tree-topia', 'Enviro-topia' and of course the sweet land of Candy-topia'.

'Candy-topia' had a sweet outer presence but the politics and economic was based more

on the stick than the carrot. We would like to thank Yasmin H and Kristen D for their great

presentation on 'Candy-topia' and the rest of the class for their imagination models and their

detailed narratives.
